Rome Museum Pass

Can we pre-purchase a multi day museum pass that doesn't have to be used in one or even consecutive days? We'll be in Rome April 20, 2019 and again April 29-31 (this is the result of a cruise schedule). We'd like to visit the Borghese on the 20th, and several other museums (not the Vatican, we've visited there previously) on the visit April 29-31. Can such a pass include a pre-booked entry time to the Borghese? We'll be traveling from Civiitavecchia and back on the 20th and would like to avoid a long queue if possible.

Jon, sorry but the Roma Pass is really your only reasonable option, it only comes in 48 and 72-hour amounts, and must be used consecutively after the first entry: no splitting up days/hours. Yes, it does allow you to make a pre-reservation at the Borghese but only by phone or online.

http://www.romapass.it

From the FAQ:
"For the Borghese Gallery and Palazzo Valentini (Domus Romane), the ticket reservation is required, but free for Roma Pass 72 Hours and/or Roma Pass 48 Hours holders, since the museum allows a limited number of visitors... Please note: for reservations to the Borghese Gallery and/or Domus Romane/Palazzo Valentini, please call +39 06 32810 (open Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm – Saturdays, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm) or send an email to info@tosc.it."

Understand that NO pass or ticket allows you to skip the security-check queues. Those usually move right along, though.

What I would do is just pre-purchase tickets/reservations for the Borghese for the 20th, and maybe buy a pass for the 29th - 31st. Keep in mind however that the national museums are closed on Mondays (April 29th) so not all museums covered under the pass will be available on that day.

April also ends on the 30th and not the 31st. May 1st is a big national holiday in Italy (Labor Day) so I'd check to see which of the museums covered by the pass - and that you are interested in - are open on that day. It could very well be that it will be less expensive to just pay individual entry fees at the door to places you wish to visit. Long ticket queues are usually only an issue at the Colosseum and Vatican, and you can get around it at the Colosseum by pre-purchasing tickets.

Tickets/reservations for the Borghese (although it's much too early for April slots):

One more thing, Jon....

The 48-hour Roma Pass only allows a free entry to one attraction and discounts on others.
The 72-hour pass allows a free entry to two attractions and discounts on others.

Regarding skipping ticket lines:
"72h and 48h Roma Pass holders can directly access to Coliseum, Capitoline Museums and Saint Angel’s Castle National Museum security checks and avoid the ticket office by presenting their own cards.
Roma Pass holders can access to Coliseum security checks through the facilitated entrance dedicated to GROUPS. Nonetheless, visitors might have to wait on line due to stricter security controls. As for other museums/archeological sites visitors must go to the ticket office where in general waiting times are extremely reduced."
