Hello, I’m brand new to this forum so please excuse me if I make any posting etiquette mistakes!
We are a family of 5 (3 kids, ages 13, 15, 17) traveling to Rome in April 2023 for five nights. I’ve narrowed down our Airbnb options to three places in Monti and one in Prati and I would welcome any insight or opinions - things that are important to us are quiet at night, not super touristy, easy access to restaurants and grocery stores, proximity to metro stations or taxi stands, and a good Rome vibe (doesn’t have to be super picturesque or quaint, just want to feel like we’re in Rome and not some generic city). Two kids take Latin, so they are psyched to see the sights of Ancient Rome.
These are the approximate locations of the places I’m looking at and my concerns (if any) about the locations:
(1) Monti - near the intersection of Via dell’Esquallino, Via Gioberti, and Piazza do Santa Maria Maggiore - too close to Termini? Not sure what the neighborhood is like this close to the train station.
(2) Monti - Via Cavour, between Via delle Vasche and Via Sforza - worried that Via Cavour is too busy and loud.
(3) Monti - Via dei Capocci, between Via de’Ciancaleoni and Via Panisperna - seems like a narrow street but probably quiet.
(4) Prati - corner of Via Germanico and Via Silla; I understand that Prati is not as lively as Monti, which is fine and we'd prefer quiet to loud, but does it have a little life at night? We don't need a crazy nightlife, but some restaurants and gelato places that are open and cheerful and have a good vibe would be great.
And if anyone has any particular apartments they've rented and can recommend, perhaps you could message me directly?
Thank you!
