Rome Metro Line A Weekend Closures Start Today

(Sorry if this has already been posted. I did a quick search and couldn't find it.)

Various sections of Line A will be closed through August. Buses will be used to cover the segments of the metro that are closed. Here is a link from wantedinrome.com that lists the dates and which segments are expected to be closed. For those who don't like clicking on blind links, here's the address...

Well done, Eric. I hadn't seen this on the forum yet!

The good news for tourists is that a lot of this won't probably affect them. For locals, it's a different story. :O(

What's most likely to affect visitors (best guess) is the closure on 14-19 August between Ottaviano and S. Giovanni, and the 20-25 August closure between Termini and Battistini.

And there's the ongoing closures of Barberini and Repubblica, both on Line A north of Termini. Thank goodness that for tourists without mobility challenges, Rome is a wonderfully walkable city and best seen from the shoes whenever possible! :O)

I agree, Kathy, especially with that last closure between Termini and Battistini. I know it's August and lots of Romans will be out of town, but I can't help but think that buses such as 64 and 40 will be even more crowded than normal--in August, in Rome. Makes me sweat just thinking about it!

Thank you for this info! Luckily, it doesn't affect our visit. The Subaugusta station is one that is handy for the aqueducts, but there is also Giuilio Agricola, which is probably better positioned to reach the aqueducts.
