Can anyone confirm if the Rome Metro line A is currently open for use during the week? I have heard that the line is closed for maintenance and I have heard that it is open during the day but closes at night. I am traveling to Rome the end of March and am trying to plan how to get to some of the main tourist spots. Thank you.

When I was there a couple of months ago it was open during the day and then closed at 9pm. I didn't have any issues

Here's official word on the ATAC site on early evening (9:00 PM) closure during the week, and the workaround by bus. Note that the line stays open later at night on Fridays and Saturdays. :O)

Editing to add: as few of Rome's more visited attractions are open beyond 7:00 PM or so in late March, you shouldn't have issues getting 'home' at night. As well, Rome is a very walkable city (we've rarely felt that we needed to use public transit) and can be more fun seen from your own two feet! It's also pretty when lit up at night.
