Rome marathon 2023 date

Hi everyone—

I’m trying to plan my March 2023 trip around the Rome marathon—so we can avoid being in Rome around that time to avoid the crowds the race might bring in.

I’m seeing 2 different dates for the marathon—March 19 2023 and March 26 2023.

Does anyone have any insight as to which date might be accurate? Or who I can contact for reliable info. on the race?

These look like the official website, facebook and instagram pages for the marathon, and all of them state March 19th.

I personally wouldn't trust the ahotu page; it's the only place on the net I'm seeing that March 26 date.
You could have the marathon folks contact you with the Stay Up-To-Date function on the website, or call/email them.

I've run the Rome marathon twice. It is nothing like a big time marathon (NYC, Boston, Chicago) in the US. It doesn't bring big crowds except for the non competitive run in the city that starts after the marathon and can have a huge number of participants. Both times I ran the expo was down in the ugly new area outside of the city center. Yes it runs all through the city but I don't think you would have a problem visiting then.
