Rome lodging for easy train access to FCO airport

Any suggestions for a good location to stay in for safe and easy access to the train to FCO airport for a very early morning flight? Total of 4 adults…looking at Airbnb as well as hotels. Hoping for around $100-130/night

How many of you are there?

A taxi may be a better alternative. ( fixed rate of 50 euro) and 'door to door' service. As I recall the train is 14/(15?) euro per person

This is more expensive but no transportation to reach the airport. I stayed at the Hilton my last two trips for the final night, and it was so convenient for those early flights - so some extra sleep! It’ has a covered connected walkway, so you feel like you’re in the airport. I walked over the evening before my flight to see where I would check in the next morning.

Hotel Sonya is our preference -- about a two block walk to Termini. We have also used Hotel Contilia. Just a block away out the south side door of Termini. It is more spartan, cheaper, so so breakfast but clean and efficient. We use it for one night stays in Rome when passing through.

I would not stay near Termini but instead in Trastevere, on the south end, where you can walk to the Trastevere station (maybe a mile walk?) and the day(s) before enjoy beautiful Trastevere. I stayed at the north end of Trastevere and walked to the station, a long walk, but starting my day with all that exercise made the long flight much more bearable. There is a train from Trastevere to FCO, which I think takes around 20 minutes. The station is small and much easier to manage than Termini.

However, I say this partly with the idea that you will have some time to enjoy wherever you are before going to the airport, and I strongly recommend Trastevere. Where to stay: I found Hotel Trastevere pretty good, not luxurious, but a great location and reasonably priced. It's near my favorite eatery in Rome, Il Siciliano.
