Anyone ever stay at the Hotel Aberdeen (sounds more Scottish or Irish) in Rome. Looks like a reasonably nice place to stay and seems centrally located. Price is also good for a solo traveler. Thanks.
I haven't stayed at this one, Jim, but it's seeing very good reviews on booking.com: a site I particularly trust when choosing our own hotels. Some travelers don't like being close to Termini - they don't care for that area - but I wouldn't have the slightest hesitation if the price and amenities work for you. We've stayed on the next street over (Via della Quattro Fontane) and thought the location was great.
This hotel has been recommended in Rick Steves' Italy book for years and also used by our tour groups. Staff is very friendly.
Have No idea how you guys make reservations at those RS hotels. They are always all filled up every time I try. So I quit trying.
I lodge on Via Milazzo on the Via Marsala side of Termini, where no RSers dare to go. I always have a nice room with WiFi and TV, nice bathroom, great mattress, loving staff, yummy breakfasts, and low cost. I'm 30 seconds away from all the amenities and benefits of Termini.
Jim,
Yes, I've stayed at Hotel Aberdeen and I'd highly recommend it. I found the rooms very comfortable and they serve a wonderful breakfast. The building used to be a mansion or something, and there are a couple of hotels there. As soon as you enter the courtyard through the large doors, turn to your right.
If they have a vacancy, I'd suggest getting a booking SOON.
