Rome lodging

The hotel that we stayed at the last time we were in Rome,is no longer in business.
Looking for places that are located going out the side exit of Termini. Across Via Marasala and Viate Pretoriano.
In the 80.-120 Euro range.
We'll be there the week before and the week of Easter.
I know that it's way to early book plane tickets and hotel rooms, but getting ideas early won't hurt.
Thanks

I don't know if its too early for plane tickets at this point but I can suggest you contact hotels and get that started for the best price; its a popular time to be in Rome. I'm not sure which hotel you mean but can tell you that Hotel Sonya http://www.hotelsonya.it/ is a few blocks from the station and pretty OK. Not sure of the price range. Also know that Rick Steve's tours have been known to use the place so you can hope its decent! Actually, stayed there twice and it was really fine. Not the world's most comfortable beds but good location, nice folks, good food around the area.

Safe and fun travels!

It's not too early! Easter is crazy-busy here. Try the Beehive Hotel or their associated site, cross-pollinate.com for an apartment or B&B. Also try Little Italy B&B. Not exactly the Termini area but convenient and easy to get to.

I'm here in Rome right now on Via Milazzo, waking up on the best bed in the country and paying only $48.50 (total includes city tax) a night, signed up for another week at the B and B Caroline run by the Hotel Mirage, both a few doors away from the other. I am next to Taverna Antica, and the HM staff is next to the Mangrovia, the place that knows how to do fresh seafood and hands out white roses to the gals! Those waiters have FUN with their customers!

I never was able to get in at any of the RS hotels, always booked. Always felt left out. But i found a place for my hapless soul and I'm thrilled. I have a nice room, great bed, nice bathroom and shower, Armadio, a safe, big windows, high ceilings, a working aria condizione that has a "Powerful" button on the remote! Yeah the elevator holds only 2 or 3 people and you have to shut 3 doors, but it works as good as the swanky ones. I have 24/7 WiFi that has never failed. I have a nice TV.

And the staff is terrific. Last nite at midnite I messed up my safe and the desk clerk came to fix it. Yesterday I forgot my keys at the HM office and the day clerk brought them to me. I feel like a Princess here. When my RS Adapter konked out, the Porter brought me a House adapter and their charger and cord for my iphone 5, and I can keep all. Of course I tip him, he brought my bag here and opened the windows for me that first night and showed me the safe, a nice guy, does not speak English but gets the job done. Other staff do speak English.

It's hard to see the homeless sleeping under the ristorante canopies, but it's not my first time. I live in Chicago and this still ain't that. I'm safe here, always wear my RS neck wallet and/or RS money belt, Gotta go, it's after 7 AM, here!

We stayed, May/2014, at the BB Queen, Via Montebello, quite near Termini, perhaps 5 minute walk. Julia, the owner, is great. The cosy, modern rooms are furnished with: private bathroom, hair drier, air conditioning, safe , mini bar, LCD tv and Internet access. We paid about 100 euro a night. It has great reviews on TA. We think it is a hidden gem.

I should add that breakfast is divine here at the B and B Caroline (Hotel Mirage), on Via Milazzo just off Via Marsala side of Termini. Caffe' is better here than at my favorite bar on the corner, wide pastry selection including my favorite chocolate-filled, toast with real butter and jelly tubs, Melba pane, deli-cut meat and cheese, Cremoso yogurt, orange and red grapefruit juices, and American-style cereal. So good.
