Rome Itinerary - need advice please

We are heading to Italy soon and the first leg of the trip is 3 days in Rome. We have been before and seen many of the sights but would like to do the following:

Roman Forum/Palatine Hill (tour tickets purchased)
Vicus Caprarius
Circus Maximus
Explore Trastevere
Visit some vintage shops

We are staying in the Monti area. Is the above doable or are we packing too much in to do it all justice? We are seniors in reasonably good health.

Thanks for the assistance.

I don't see that you'd have an issue at all with this itinerary. The Roman Forum/Palatine tour shouldn't be longer than a couple of hours. Visitors to Vicus Caprarius report that it doesn't take more than 30 minutes, as it's a small space. Assuming you intend to see Circus Maximus via the Circo Maximo Experience, that website states that it's a 40-minute walk + requested arrival 15 minutes in advance of a booked entry.

So adding up the time needed for the 3 attractions on your list leaves quite a lot left over for Trastevere and some vintage shopping. Your 3 days includes arrival day in Rome so is a partial sightseeing/shopping day?

Hi, Giangilberto from Milan, Foro Romano, Colle Palatino, and Circo Massimo are all within walking distance.
Vicus Caprarius, the water city beneath the Trevi Fountain, is a fifteen-twenty minute walk in the opposite direction.
The only area that's far away is Trastevere, on the other side of the Tiber. That deserves a half-day of its own, preferably in the afternoon or evening.
The Foro Romano, Colle Palatino, and Circo Massimo together are already a full half-day, and the Colle Palatino, especially now with this infernal heat we're experiencing, could be tiring because it involves a lot of walking.
Just a little tip: if you decide to walk to Trastevere, remember that the cobblestones of Monti and Trastevere are the most tiring part of the day for two people your age, more than the distances.
I'll leave you three useful official links below. The first has all the information you need to visit "Vicus Caprarius." The second is the page dedicated to the Colosseo, Foro Romano e Colle Palatino and the third one is for the Circo Massimo:

Kate,
Thank you for the info. Yes, the first day is arrival day but we always try to hit the ground running. We would love to see more but narrowed it down so that we could enjoy the experience instead of marking things off on a checklist. We have found some of our best experiences have been the unplanned ones. From what you said we should have enough unplanned time. Thanks!

Giangilberto,
Thank you for all the valuable information. We hadn't heard of the immersive experience at Circus Maximus (this was a last minute addition from my husband) so we will certainly take advantage of that. Thank you for all the links. We are so excited to be returning to Italy! Thanks.
