We will be in Rome for New Year's this year. What kind of clothing do we need? We were hoping 57 in Rome would be warmer than 57 in Chicago. Any tips on what to pack?
That time of year I'm in my wool coat, scarf and hat. The scarf is more about fashion than warmth. But not to worry it is no where as cold as Chicago would be.
That is good to hear, but any specifics as to clothing? It is my first trip and I do not want to overpack.
I spent New Year's 2003 in Rome. I was backbacking around the continent after spending a semester abroad. I spent the entire month in jeans, sneakers/short boots, long sleeve shirts and sweaters and a fleece jacket (think fleece jackets like North Face makes). I was fine the whole time in that, and we traveled in Spain, Switzerland, Germany and Italy. 57 in Rome is definitely warmer than 57 in Chicago! And 57 sounds pretty good, considering Chicago (and Milwaukee) are MUCH colder that time of the year!
Michelle,
Unfortunately, I can not open private messages at the moment (AOL)....can you post your response openly?
