My family will be spending six nights in Rome in the middle of June. I would like to spend one day at the coast. Can anyone recomend a beach?

The coast heading southbound towards gaeta is a nice one. Especially beautiful are the beaches of Sperlonga and Sabaudia. However I wouldn't call them a "quick trip" as the roads that lead there are generally one lane going, one lane coming and when there is traffic, you can imagine. Still if you do have a full day, I highly recommend these beaches. The Northern coast is also nice, from Fregene up to Santa Marinella.
All these beaches are reachable by car and by train as well.
