My wife and I will be travelling to Rome in May. What will the weather be like at that time. Any recommended places to visit. How can I get tickets in advance for the Sunday audience for the Pope. I have heard of a special tour of the Vatican, underground. How do I get tickets?
Rome has the same temperature as San Jose all year around. Whatever you are wearing at home on any given day, will be good for Rome on the same day. The only difference is that in summer here in the SF Bay area it gets cooler (thanks to the bay breeze), whereas Rome (and the mediterranean region in general) tends not the get the same night cool and therefore they have warmer nights. I gave my meteorology contribution, others will tell you how to see Jorge Mario.
Robert, I'm sure not trying to teach you how to eat eggs, but goodness gracious those are basic questions which can easily be answered in loads and loads of detail; and many other questions besides which haven't occurred to you yet; using a good guidebook. The guy who sponsors this website writes a an absolute cracker of a guidebook for Rome called Rick Steves' Rome 2013 Guidebook available here (I've provided the link) or any good bookstore or library. Can I suggest you have a good read and see what you think of what's in it? I'm afraid that with a 2000 character limit here (about 14 full length tweets) it is impossible to write a guidebook.
