Rome in March

Hi, all. Looking for your advice/recommendations on local experts/tour guides in Rome. This is our second time to Rome but our first as a couple without the kids! We'd like to get a local feel - with wine/dinner tour, colosseum, forum tours as well. Any day trips you might recommend, etc. Appreciate all advice and suggestions - thank you!

You might be interested in seeing if Francesca Caruso is available as a guide. She is in the RS programs with hi and is one of his local guides in Rome. She is wonderfully engaging. She was unavailable when we wanted a guide, so she recommended Sonia Tavoletta who was also terrific. If you are there on er a weekend, we were fascinated with our tour of Domus Aurea. It’s Nero’s golden dome and is a working archeological site, hence tours are only on weekends.

Hi,

I took a Walks of Italy tour a few years ago and enjoyed it. Small group and the guide was knowledgeable and engaging. I also follow Sophie Minchilli on IG. I have not taken a tour with her but she seems to have a “Rick Steves” vibe. By that, I mean she is Italian-born and seems knowledgeable and honors and highlights local businesses.

Sharon, we had a tour with Sophie Minchilli in Rome and we loved it! She knows the best food scenes of Rome
