I stayed at Hotel Katty in the Termini area last year. The rooms are recently updated and all (I understand) en-suite. My room was very clean and quiet. I paid 49 Eu/night for a single, paying with cash. The hotel is "family run" by a mother and daughter who live in the building. The daughter speaks English. The hotel has an elevator and Wifi.

When in April? I ask because Easter falls on April 24 this year, and Rome will be more crowded than usual then. Also, please define "inexpensive" in either dollars or euros and you'll get better responses. Also please define "easy accessible". Good luck.

Ciao Jose, You might want to check out The Beehive, which is near the Termini train station. We stayed there this summer for five nights and had a wonderful time. They tend to fill up quickly so I would contact them via their website as soon as possible. The owners are a young American couple who have d a most welcoming and comfortable place to stay in Rome. I can't say enough about The Beehive. Their friendly staff is prepared to help you enjoy your stay in Rome. The price is 80 euros per night plus a new hotel tax of 2 euros each per person per night, which comes to less than $120 per night. It is an easy 3 blocks from the Termini so you'll have easy access to all the buses, etc.
Good luck and have a wonderful honeymoon!

jose, You might find it helpful to have a look at the Italy Guidebook, as there are lots of Hotels listed in various parts of Rome and in various price ranges. That would be the best way to find something that meets your criteria. You might have a look at This Hotel or This Hotel to see if they might work for you (both are in the Termini area). If this is your first trip to Rome, be prepared as it can be expensive. Dining is typically a bit "different" so a good idea to give some thought to that. If you order the "full meal deal" (Primi, Secondi) for both of you, it will get expensive very quickly! Congratulations and happy travels!

Jose - we were in Rome in late April last year just after Easter at a B&B - La Maison dell'Orologio. It is in your price range and we had a great experience there. In addition, for what we wanted to do the location was great - a short walk to the Vatican, Piazza Navona and not too long a walk to the sites of ancient Rome.

My husband and I honeymooned last May at Barbara's B&B in Rome. It is a small place with only three rooms. We chose to stay in the larger room called the White Room. It was conveniently located, inexpensive and the breakfast on the terrace was absolutely wonderful, as were Barbara and her husband. It is close to everything and located in a quiet area of Rome. http://www.bbrome.it/english/

" maybe a scooter is possible " Possible, yes. Good idea? No. The subway and / or buses will get you everywhere much safer. Rome traffic is amazing to watch from the sidewalk, but frightful behind the wheel.

We stayed at the Hotel Veneto last July, although its not a family hotel, it was very nice, inexpensive, friendly staff and right off the Via Veneto.

Jose, based on your questions, I'm wondering if you've bought the RS Italy 2011 book. It's full of exactly the kind of information you're looking for. It's a great starting point.

Spent 4 nights in Rome in Oct at Al Centro di Roma B&B. It was clean, safe, modern and quiet with a great location a one minute walk from Piazza Navona and Campo di Fiore. 100E per night for a couple. 4th floor with nice view and elevator. Breakfast included at the coffee shop across the street. Also the strongest wi-fi signal we found in Italy. http://www.bbalcentrodiroma.com/eng/
