Needing ideas for hotel near the pantheon, Rome
This question is asked and answered a lot
If you do a search you’ll get all sorts of recommendations
Hotel Smeraldo
Albergo del Senato. It’s literally right ne t door and has a fabulous rooftop 360 degree view. As you the superior double overlooking the Pantheon.
I second Albergo del Senato - we had a room overlooking the Pantheon.
We'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
I would start looking on Booking.com since April is very soon
The 2 mentioned above are likely all booked
Another vote for Albergo del Senato. We loved it. We also had a room with large windows looking right onto the Pantheon and the plaza. Lit up at night the view absolutely took our breath away.
We stayed at Hotel Smeraldo the year before and did not care for it. Small, cramped, dark (the hotel and our room) and a tiny bathroom
Sandie, as you can see, different visitors have different requirements. Those might include per night cost, required on-site services, ability to accommodate the number of people you are traveling with in the same room (minor children), amount of RECENT positive reviews, etc.
What can you tell the folks here that might help them make recommendations?
Why did you choose the Pantheon area?
Hotel Smeraldo is my go to. I actually rearranged my itinerary for this April so I could stay there.
Another vote for Albergo del Senato. We have stayed there a few times in recent years, and have 2 more visits booked there this year. The hotel and the rooms are beautiful, service is top notch, and it's close to everything you'll want to see in the Centro Storico part of Rome.
Albergo Abruzzi - we stayed four nights in November. Our room had two large windows - views of the Pantheon and Piazza della Rotonda. Breakfast was available at Piazza Capranica around the corner. I’ve always wanted to stay at the footsteps of the Pantheon - Albergo Abruzzi was everything!
Albergo Del Senato is a lovely hotel. We will be returning to stay there again in four weeks this time taking our 6 year old son with us. Enjoy your trip!
I think Christine H's suggestion is probably the best since we are mid-March, and you say you are looking for April, a very popular time in Rome, and a time that isn't very long from now.
The Senato and the Smeraldo are both beloved, but whether they would have availability at this late date remains to be seen.
You need to be looking to see what has availability for your dates, and then combing through the reviews.
Hotel Navona. Close to Pantheon.
Not sure how close you need to be but we're staying at the Hotel Damaso this summer and they look to have some vacancy in April. According to Google, it's an eight-minute walk to the Pantheon.
I second Albergo Abruzzi. This past December, my sister & I stayed in a room facing the Pantheon. Didn’t have breakfast bc La Casa del Caffe Tazza d’Oro is next door (my fav coffee shop). The staff were very kind. I would like to mention the Pantheon facing rooms, while they give a fantastic view, are terribly noisy at night. So if you’re a light sleeper, maybe try a room in the annex.
