Rome Hotels, Sonya or IQ

Are you saying you are locked into those particular hotels? It’s a no- brainer decision...IQ

No, we're not locked into them. These are two that we found that we liked and are having. Hard time differentiate between the two.

We stayed at IQ Roma in June. Loved the hotel. Great location, good food (surprisingly affordable and good food), washer and dryer (which is very rare in Italy to find), big rooms, quiet, & nice people who work there. I would stay there again on any trip that takes me to Rome.

Thanks Jeannie, can you remember how much breakfast/dinner was when you were there? Do you remember what food they offered for breakfast? I had no idea they had a washer/dryer service, was that expensive to use?

The washer is 5 euros and the dryer is 5 euros. (I did laundry in Cinque Terre at a laundromat and it was the same price.) The detergent and everything is included in the price. We ate outside of the hotel mostly but we ate one dinner there when we were exhausted from a very hot - all day sightseeing trip and wanted a restaurant close with air conditioning! I think the hamburgers my kids ordered were around 8-9 euros. I am sorry I really don't remember the cost. I got pasta there and so did my husband. The food prices there were cheaper than many of the restaurants we had eaten at in Rome and seemed fair to me. I heard they had a good breakfast but we did not eat breakfast there any day. Hope this helps.

Jeannie, that was very helpful thanks!! Are there a lot of restaurants close to the hotel? One thing we like is how close it is to the Metro and walking distance to other areas.

Another vote for IQ - I have stayed there twice in recent years , about two weeks each time . Everything that has been posted above is spot on . The restaurant on the top floor was so good , we ate there most nights , and the A/C works perfectly . I wouldn't consider any other place .
