Rome hotels location and quality--Mecenate or Euro Int. Palace

wondering which is the better choice. We need to take luggage from Termini to hotel (1 suitcase each) and then want to tour Trevi, Spanish Steps, Colo, etc. Only for 1 night. Which is in a better/safer/more desirable location? For the same cost, which is better quality? thanks, Elaine

Consider getting the one closer to a metro stop. An all day metro/bus pass was fairly inexpensive and got us to all the famous places we wanted to go to. Besides, trying to see all the things that you want to see in one day will require fast travel between those locations on the metro lines. The bus station and metro is conveniently located just in front of the Termini Station, but make sure you're not arriving or leaving there too late at night or you may need pay for an expensive cab ride.

The hotel Oceania is about 10 minute walk max from Termini. My daughter and I did a one day blitz on our last day after arriving at 2PM by train to Piazza di Argentini, Pantheon, Piazza di Navonna and Trevi in 2.5 hours then went to dinner at our favorite restaurant. All of above and spanish steps are easy walking.
