OK, I am having trouble booking the RS recommended hotels (2009 Book) in Rome. They are all fully booked for a late May stay. Any suggestions/recommendations for other hotels Near the Campo de Fiori or the Piazza Navona? Please include the reasons you make like the hotel. Any help would be appreciated.
www.the-beehive.com great location and excellant hosts. one of the best in all of rome.
Check out Hotel Smeraldo: http://www.smeraldoroma.com/about.htm.
We loved the location, the accommodations (small rooms, but air conditioned), and the rooftop terrace.
Navonna First B&B - we stayed there last year and it was very good. Nothing fancy, but it was located in Campo dei Fiori, included AC, clean and cheap. What more can you ask for in expensive Rome?
Any hotel listed in Rick Steves is going to fill up quickly. Plus you're traveling at the peak of tourism. Look for a place on Venere.com and then see if you can find contact to book direct, you usually find better prices avoiding booking sites.
I just booked a 5* hotel in Prague from Venere for 94 Euro when the hotel's own booking engine wanted 178 Euro. So you CAN find good deals on 3rd Party booking sites. If you find a deal be sure to read the details...especially cancellation policies.
