We have Rick's book, but are looking for additional Rome hotel recommendations for 3 nights so we have a few more choices. Priorities for us are a quiet place, no more than 150 euros/night, with a hospitable staff. Anyone have some great hotel experiences to share?

No matter where we go I peruse Trip Advisor, VRBO.com and Booking.com. The latter is great because reservations are (generally) cancellable up to 24 hours in advance.
Suites Piazza del Popolo might be a good fit. This is a small b&b located in a modern apartment/condo building. It is quiet and located away from the main tourist areas of Rome. There are local restaurants a few blocks away, and the Borghesi Gardens are across the street. It's an easy walk to the transit hub at Piazza del Popolo, although we had a Roma Pass and used it to ride the modern tram that runs right by the building to the Piazza. Write if you have specific questions.
Take a look at Hotel Modagliani-not sure of current rates but this hotel may suit your needs.
