Rome hotel reservation in ruins

I booked the Hotel Sonya for 3 nights, 9/30-10/3. Initial email confirmed they had the vacancy and directed me to book via their online link. The email confirming the dates took a bit to arrive. When I checked email a few days later, they had not booked me for the 3 nights, just the first night. They were not apologetic about it and just flat out rude. I am super disappointed because I had stayed there in 2006 while on a Rick Steves' Best of Europe tour and was happy with the location and stay. At this point, we were basically done with vacation planning. We now have to star over for a Rome hotel. Any suggestions for the Termini area? Many of Rick Steve's suggestions are booked. I am so frustrated now. Any advice for an other location in Rome that is Metro adjacent would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

I will never stay anywhere else in Rome except the Hotel Napoleon. It's family owned and the workers will bend over backward to help you in any possible way. We've been to Rome several times and stayed at various hotels - I don't even look anymore, just straight to the Napoleon we go!

bbqueen.it We have stayed there twice and loved it, most recently in March, 2012. It's a 5 minute walk from Termini. Julia is a wonderful host!

We stayed at the Hotel Solara near Termini area on the RS tour I took a few years ago, do you mean that one? If not try it, rooms were decent size, and had good a/c and nice modern bathrooms.

Don't worry, you can still get a room. Rome has tons of hotels. Try booking.com
I have used them numerous times and its easy to filter out locations, prices and amenties. Personally, I stay away from hotels mentioned in Rick Steves books because thats where EVERYBODY else wants to stay.

Just got back from Rome. Stayed at the Hotel Ivanhoe a nice B&B on Via Urbana, 10 min. walk from Termini, one block off Via Cavour and 1 min to Cavour Metro entrance.
