Rome hotel recommendations

I did not think i would be asking this question but I need advice. We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children and have a 2 night stay in Rome from 26th to 28th December. Kids are teenagers and not afraid to walk the streets. This will be our 5th trip to Rome (all in December) in 8 years. Normally, we stay at the Radisson Blu. Not the greatest location / hotel but it works. You can access the hotel from the back side of Termini to the back side of the hotel (next to the Garage). Makes it really convenient-coming / going to airport or other cities by train, especially when our kids were younger. It also has a modern, and spacious feel which we like.

However, as i price out the stay, it is coming to close to 800 Euros for two days, of course these are basic refundable rates. This is too pricey IMO.

We will be arriving by train from Florence in the afternoon and leaving by 6 pm flight .

thanks for the advice.

Kinda late for hotel reservations at holiday time. I don’t know if they have rooms large enough for 4 but check out the Hotel Lancelot.

Thanks Alan the place looks nice, I am ok with 2x2 rooms. Normally we just take adjacent or connecting rooms. I am also considering Aberdeen as it appears to be very popular.

thanks

That was going to be my suggestion ( they show a quad room for 168euro- 2 nite total /// different rates for 2 rooms)

I would have no objection to staying there again

Wow awesome! I have 10+ choices. I pulled out my handy 2013 RS Italy Guide and a lot of them are in the top 10. Aberdeen, Sonya. Thanks again guys and have wonderful holidays.

We like IQ Roma. I don't know what their pricing is for your time frame. We stayed there this summer with our teenagers and it worked out well for us. Have a great trip.

Hi MK, I stayed at Diana Hotel in May with my teenage daughter and am going back again in April. It is a very convenient two blocks from Termini. Breakfast is also included. Good luck!

Termini area very sketchy. I know I’ll get blowback for this but I would not stay there with my family.

Completely agree with Alan--area around Termini is sketchy and unattractive. Pantheon/Navonna is the area to book a hotel.
