Has anyone stayed at Hotel Lancelot?
I'm looking for feedback on the hotel too. We are staying there in July.
Just found this on Hotel Lancelot.
Good luck
My husband & I stayed there for 5 days on our first trip to Rome. I had requested a room with a Coliseum view & got it. The room was fine, the bathroom was small, but we expected that. The breakfast was good, the facility very nice. Had a computer we could use for internet at reasonable price. We were there in November so we did not use the patio bar much. The restaurant recommendation was great and I loved walking by the Coliseum every evening to come home. Mrs. Kahn, the owner, sent us to a travel agency close by to help with the train reservations & that made it very easy to get it done. She also offered to loan me a hot air brush when mine kept blowing the circuit breaker. She had a brand new one, never used, and ended up selling it to me so that I could use it on the rest of our trip. Overall, a nice hotel, friendly people, we were always greeted upon coming in. The neighborhood is residential & quiet. The location worked well for us, we like to walk a lot at night. It is not as close to Navona & Pantheon area, but also a lot quieter.
We stayed there in July 2006, a family of 7, including my 80 year old native-Italian father-in-law on his first trip back to Italy in 30 years. We stayed at Hotel Lancelot for 5 nights and it was a wonderful experience. We left Grandpa at the hotel during the heat of the day while the rest of us took in the sights. The hotel staff got him lunch and he got to spend time speaking Italian. We highly recommend it. I agree, passing the Colisseum on the way to and from the hotel was an added bonus.
i asked a similar question and the feedback i have received was "it was great". we booked for july.
i do have a follow-up question for you, have you found a guide or are you doing it independent/self-guided?
