Rome- Hotel Decisions between 2

Help, its our first time going to Italy this September. We will be staying in Rome for 4 nights. I have booked 2 hotels needing to narrow down my choice of course to one :) 5 of us. mom and dad and 3 adult children so they may wander out on their own in the day and night! What is the better neighborhood choice for attractions, food, bars, safe area, etc??

  1. Hotel Regno , it appears to be near Trevi Fountain area
  2. Hotel Lancelot, it's near the Colosseum

Both hotels have great reviews and I got the suggestions from the RS forums.

Thank you!!

I would opt for the first hotel. The location is more central and with four days, you can more or less walk in a different direction every day to see all the main attractions. The second hotel is a bit to the edge of the city, so you'd have to walk to the northwest every day to reach all the highlights.
At night, you'll have more food options with the hotel near the Trevi Fountain, and your children can easily walk to the Spanish Steps and to the Piazza Navona area.
