Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Oceania in Rome? What did you think? RS recommended it in his book.
Hi Marcia,
My husband and I stayed there in March 2007 and loved it. In fact, we've stayed in dozens of European hotels over the years but the Oceania is one of those that stands out in my memory. We found the location, a 10 minute walk to Termini, to be excellent, the staff (lead by Stefano) to be friendly, helpful, and accommodating, and the hotel itself was a cozy, peaceful respite from the day's hectic touristic activities.
Of course, this was over 3 years ago. For more recent reviews you may want to peruse the reviews on TripAdvisor.com, I have linked them HERE
If we found ourselves in Rome again we'd for sure stay at Hotel Oceania. Good luck!
Thanks so much for your comment. We are booked there for mid September. I had not seen anyone comment on the hotel and was a little curious. I did go to Trip Advisor and will do that for all of the other hotels that we have booked as well. Thanks again.
Ciao,
Marcia
I just returned from Italy last night after 13 days there, it is my first time visiting Italy! My first evening was spent at the Hotel Oceania & I loved it!! I travelled with 3 other women. one of the girls wanted her own room they accomodated her & she was very happy. the other 3 of us shared a room, which had 3 beds in it & plenty of room to spare. the staff, unbelievably nice & helpful with an internet computer for your use as a guest. the girl with her own room was the only one of us who got up early enough for the breakfast they serve all guests she was happy with it, cappucino & a croissant, which we all got use to mid way in our trip!! the rest of us got up later than we wanted to, 10:30am, the time to be out! lol no one had a problem with us though! we left at 11:30 for a train to Florence with smiles from the staff & encouragement to enjoy our vacation & come back to visit again!! we loved the view from the window! we loved the area that we did explore our first evening there! we just had a blast to start off our vaca right!! go! you will not be dissapointed!
