Rome Hop On Hop Off Tour

My husband and I are traveling to Italy in July. We only have 2 half and one full day in Rome and are considering taking a HOHO tour to be able to see the highlights. We are traveling with 3 (older) parents and so I'm not sure a walking tour would work in our situation. Does anyone have good recommendations for a tour company? Should we book this ahead of time?

Hop on/off are good for a overview of the city. That is one of the first things we do when we hit a new city. There are several choices in Rome with most of them selling tickets at booths on the north side of the plaza in front of Termini. It is buy a ticket and get on. No need for advance purchase.

Sue, I've used the Red Bus Hop On/Hop Off tours, and it's a great way to have a look at the highlights (and rest sore feet!). They usually provide a recorded commentary (Ear Buds will be provided), but I've found that some of the audio stations are sometimes not working (if that's the case, just move to a different seat if available). Sitting on the top deck provides a good vantage point for taking photos, provided you can get one of the seats at the edge. Happy travels!
