Rome - gyms/working out?

Hi, I am finalizing my itinerary for my first trip to Italy. I am an avid gym goer and even during vacation try to ensure that I am getting a couple or a few workouts in. Does anyone have any idea where might be a great gym in Rome if there is none in your hotel? Other than all the outdoor walking....(I'm specifically referring to places to lift weights)

Thank you,

Have you google searched it? Thats what I do to find gyms: google search, note location and proximity to where I will be staying, read reviews, look at pics. You'll probably have more luck that way than here

Hi Jessica:

I certainly have, just wondering if someone had a specific referral

Hi jasonman, I don’t actually have any specific gym recommendation, but does lifting forkfulls of pasta count? LOL

Seriously, though, when you’re doing all that walking, watch your step, especially if you venture into the Trastevere neighborhood, on the west side of the Tiber River. Lots of people walk their dogs on the sidewalk, but don’t clean up after them.

Hello,

Maybe look into this one http://www.mistergym.it/mistergym/
I know the feeling with missing our work outs. It has been more difficult to find day passes and sometimes the language barrier is difficult to navigate as to what we need/want.

Do you have your lodging picked yet? If so, let us know where it is and you might get a suggestion nearby. Or you could ask the manager/owner for a recommendation. They'll definitely know the n'hood better than any of us.

My initial Rome time will be near Piazza Navona on the Tiber side, Relais Orso
