Two families (4 adults, 4 teens) are looking for at least a couple of reasonable walking tour options for Rome. We are interested in a tour of the Vatican and another of the Roman Forum/Colosseum areas (in English) Suggestions..... we are traveling in February 2013
thanks
I highly recommend Walks of Italy. We used them for the Vatican (Pristine Sistine Tour) and would gladly use them for the Forum/Colosseo. Or you can try to hire Francesca Caruso for the latter. She's great and charges by the hour, not by the person. She is in Rick Steves' guidebooks.
I've had wonderful experiences with Context Rome, and I know they have tours specifically focused for families. I'd suggest checking their website. With 8 people, you could probably book a private tour with them for less the normal per-person cost of their small group tours.
With a group of 8 a private tour is the way to go. Check out Antiqua Tours.
Thank you so much for your responses!
