Rome Golf cart tours

I know this has been discussed before and I am debating between My Best Tours and Rolling Rome, both of which have been recommended here many times. My Best Tours offers a 4 hour tour in addition to the 3 hour tour. Rolling Rome only offers the 3 hour tour. So, for those of you that have done this... is 3 hours plenty? Do you think 4 hours is too much? Any comments or reasons to use one company over the other? I was leaning toward the 4hour option because I was hoping they might let us go inside the Pantheon if the line isn't too long (this will be in November). Does anybody know if they will do this? By the way, this is not our first time in Rome, but I am not able to do the amount of walking I once did. Thanks in advance for any insight.

I know nothing about golf cart tours, but others here might. I know they are quite popular by the number of them I see when I am in Rome.

Maybe you can ask the tour company if they will allow a stop so you can go inside…probably the best way to find out for sure.
Just an FYI…you want to visit the Pantheon in Rome, not the Parthenon which is in Greece. It is confusing, I know.

Thanks! Duly noted and corrected! Have already been to the Parthenon in Greece. Yes, I do plan to reach out to the company about that.

I don't have experience either but will be following this thread. I don't have the ability to walk as much anymore either :). Been to Rome several times so a golf cart tour might be in our future.

Could you ask the tour to end at Pantheon- if they can't allow time during the tour? We usually stay near the Pantheon so that would be a perfect tour for us.
I think 3 hours would be my limit riding in a golf cart.

Let us know which tour you choose and how it goes.

ChristineH, Yes, I believe they will drop you off where you want. I'm going to write to them today for details. Right now, just deciding between 3 and 4 hours tour and hoping someone with experience will chime in.

I do not yet have any experience to offer, as I am booked for a 3 hour golf cart tour with Turtle Tours very soon.
I have seen a number of golf cart tours that include a stop and visit to the Pantheon (admission fee excluded). One thing to consider is how much time is allocated for that stop? The tour I am taking includes stops at four churches. Turtle Tours told me each church visit would be about 5-10 minutes, far less than I anticipated, but I can see why. The tour is a sampling of some of Rome's highlights and I can return on my own in greater depth should I desire.
Do the two companies you're looking at offer a Pantheon visit? From most of the reviews I have read from various companies, it seems as though these (private tours, not group) can be customized to a certain extent.
I plan on having the driver of my tour drop me off at a location further away from my Airbnb (the pickup location), so that I can continue to explore on foot. I don't think it will be a problem, as it is closer to the last stop on the tour and closer to their place of business.
Good luck!

Well, I booked with My Best Tours and took the 4-hour option. They said they include a skip the line ticket to the Pantheon if requested. They will customize to what we want to see and not see and will drop us off wherever we want. They do pick up at our airbnb, which some of the companies do not do. Looking forward to it!

In 2023, I had two golf cart tours reserved. I have to say that riding on a golf cart on the streets of Rome is not something I would do again. There are two reasons for my dislike of a golf cart. Many of the carts have seats that face backwards. This means you are looking at the cars flying by while being driven through the busy streets. You must be the first in line at the meeting points to be sure of jumping into the forward facing seats.
Secondly, the streets are so bumpy, that at the end of a couple hours, our backsides were so sore, we could hardly walk. Speeding over cobblestones is not a comfortable way to experience Rome.
