Does anyone know the easiest way to get to the Rome from the sky elevator (once you are at the monument or capitoline museum)? My knees are starting to get sore from all the steps and would like to reduce the amount of climbing and descending steps.
You are in Rome??? Get where ? from the sky elevator.
Yes I am in Rome now. Just looking for the easiest way (least amount of stair climbing) to get to the entrance to the elevator
Sorry for the confusion in the original post. Editing mistakes while trying to type on my phone with my big fat fingers
Good to Know: If you’re unable to negotiate the steps up to the elevator’s entrance, you can ask one of the guards at the doors on the lower level about the private internal elevator, which will take you to the Rome from the Sky elevator entrance’s level
Thanks for the reply. I don't really need to use the inside elevator. But for example, climbing Michelangelo's steps is much easier than the steps to the church next door. So if I can get to it from the piazza della campidoglio, that would be good. We were up there the other day briefly but i didn't see an obvious way to get over to the monument.
I think there used to be one at the front door of the church where you can just walk over to the monument. I was there last Sept. looking for this shortcut but I found there is a locked gate installed which separate the church from the monument. So the answer is there is no more shortcut.
