I am going to Rome for Christmas and stay near the Vatican. What are the Christmas Highlights in Rome? Where to go Christmas shopping?

Don't miss the holiday market at Piazza Navone. My favorite part of being in Rome at Christmas was walking around Christmas eve listening to the church bells ring-one played Adeste Fidelis on the bells. I went to midnight mass at Santa Maria Maggiore near the termini and it was very moving.
