Ciao everyone,
I will be in Rome in late October for 4 days. Any of you have been to a food tour in Rome? Any ideas on the best ones? Will you share your experience and provide a point of contact? I will greatly appreciate it.
Vincenzo
Loved our food tour with Bruno! Got to sample many treats as well as many sights along the way. Returned another night for dinner to the restaurant we visited on Campo de Fiori.
Loved our food tour of the Testaccio district. Many others have posted wonderful reports of the same company's food tour of the Trastevere and the evening tour. Plenty of wonderful food and drinks plus a lot of information and a lovely walking tour of the district. We have thoroughly enjoyed our tours with Eating Italy. http://www.eatingitalyfoodtours.com/rome/ Looking this up, I see they also offer food tours for Florence with Venice "coming soon"!
We did Travestere Twighlight Tour that Andi has a link to. It was wonderful. Groups of 8 or so, we went to about 10 different very unique places that we wouldn't have found on our own most likely. You stop at each for their samplings and drink. You do have one stop where you sit for about an hour, we sampled 3 different dinner items. Every place was very cool, as was walking around the area. it was one of our highlights in Rome.
Another vote for Eating Italy. My family did the Trastevere day time tour. Even our young daughter had a good time. Friendly guide. I believe we received the best quality of food in Rome. I would do it again.
