We are headed to Italy in April, we are flying into Rome. There are 8 people traveling together, 2 families each with 2 children (8,5). Trying to plan our vacation of 12 days. Some of our ideas: Rome 2 nights Agriturismo in Tuscany 7 nights Venice 3 nights Any recommendations would be appreciated! I would love to find an Agri with a heated pool for the kids. Has anyone stayed in Uniolido (campground outside of Venice)?
Thank you!
No recommendation for an Agri. But you might want to consider spending more time in Rome and possible be near Florence to avoid having too much day-trip try travel with the children. For example: - Rome 6 nights - Florence/Agri 4 nights
- Venice 2 nights Would be two short train rides and a short day-trip or two to florence. Edwin
Agree with Edwin that Rome requires more time than 2 nights, but I think 4 nights are plenty especially with kids. Venice deserves 3-4 nights, too. Your kids will be enchanted with her! If you haven't seen it yet, check our this website, especially focused on travel worldwide with children http://www.ciaobambino.com/. So maybe 4 nights Rome, 5 nights Tuscany Agriturismo with pool (I agree important, but hopefully the pools will be open in April but not a sure thing) and 3 nights Venice. For Tuscany, you might also find an apartment in one town or another will suit you. Get an apartment in Rome if you can. It will be much less expensive with so many people and a great refuge from the city. Same with Venice for that matter.
