Looking for hotel recommendations for flying in and out of Rome with possible airport transportation
Also looking for recommendations for hotel conveniently located for walking in Florence for 3 days/2 nights.
Have you searched the forum?
There are lots of threads with hotel recommendations for Rome and Florence
Most hotels don’t have their “own” airport transportation but there are several ways to get from FCO to your hotel or you can ask your hotel to recommend a service
If you use the Search feature you will find those answers
Booking.com is a good place to research lodgings
Set your filters for price, AC, location etc
Florence- any hotel between train station and Duomo and in that area is central. Florence is very compact and walkable.
Some Rome recommendations here in a current thread:

For a hotel in Florence, consider the Hotel California. Very nice place to stay and one can definitely walk to any sites / attractions from there.
In Rome, we have used a car service to go from the airport to the hotel. After a long flight it is very nice to have a driver meet you inside the terminal and wisk you to the hotel. It cost a little more than a regular taxi, but it is well worth it. The company is known as Rome Cabs and is definitely a car service and not a taxi company despite the name. We send an email detailing our needs and get an answer within 24 hours. Needless to say, we've always been pleased with their service. This is the link to their site. https://www.romecabs.com/.
The drawback, in my opinion, to having the hotel arrange the transportation is that one may get a private car service, a taxi, or the desk clerks brother-in-law. Got the desk clerk's "cousin" one time, but didn't have any problems since there were four of us, one of us spoke italian, and another wanted to call the police.
FCO is too far out of Rome’s center for hotels to offer airport transportation. Take the train or get a taxi. The poster above mentions an excellent driver service which we use too.
Florence hotels: We choose to stay in the Santa Croce area, a little away from the crowds near the Duomo but still central for seeing the city and it’s treasures.
We stayed at Hotel ilBargellino, which is a Rick Steves recommendation. Easy walking distance from the train station and all the sites we wanted to see. We loved the hotel, it was small and had lots of character. The owners, Carmel and Pino were wonderful and we enjoyed the terrace every evening we were there. They have have rooms available with air con and private baths (which ours had) and the bath was nicely updated. We would definitely plan to stay there again in the future.
