Rome & Florence book stores with classic American books in Italian

My daughter's favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird, and she'd like a version in Italian actually purchased in Italy. I'll be in Rome and Florence in October 2022. Can anyone recommend a book store in either city (used is fine) where I might find this book in Italian? I know I can look at Google maps, but thought someone might have some specific info. Thanks!

Kathy,

Try Todo Modo in Florence (they don't seem to have a website). I was there in December 2021 and found the staff very friendly and helpful.

In Florence the best bookstore for international books used to be La Feltrinelli, which is now located on Via Cerretani, near the Duomo (but I think they have a couple more locations).

The book you are looking for is very famous but the Italian version has been translated with the title: “IL BUIO OLTRE LA SIEPE” (The darkness beyond the hedge). I’m sure every bookstore clerk at any bookstore will know the book when you mention the title in Italian. Hopefully they have in stock for you.

Not sure about the largest bookstore in Rome.

Or you can try Amazon:

There are several Feltrinelli bookstores in Rome that would carry the book. I believe there’s a Feltrinelli in the Termini train station. Thank you Balso for the Italian title of To Kill a Mockingbird.

Grazie, Roberto, for the Italian translation of the title. There's a La Feltrinelle store about 10 minutes from my Rome hotel, so I'll try there first.
