Rome first week of November

OK, just booked a week for myself and my 27 year old daughter for Rome - Nov 1-7. I've been to Italy in May and in Sept, but not this late in the year.

Looking for advise from travelers who have been in Rome early November. Closures of major sights? Weather (see from searches to expect high 50's to low 60's)

Any suggestions, advise is welcome as we plan our week. She's never been and is so excited. Rome was her first choice. We will make a day trip to Florence, but spend most of the time in Rome - unless we get really bored (?) then perhaps take a bus to a hill top town for one day.

Nov 1 is All Saints Day so the Vatican Museum will be closed for the day and the Pantheon may close early for the holiday. The Vatican Museum starts winter hours beginning November 5 (10a-12:30 entrance, exti by 1:45).

Early November should still be fairly warm. Italy, like the rest of the globe is having strange seasons so there is always the possibility of cold front moving in early.

Rome could easily keep you busy the entire time. Florence makes a good daytrip but be sure to make reservations for the museums since you won't have a lot of time. Orvieto is also a great day trip and will allow you to see a quieter paced town. Check out events in Rome at www.rometravelcafe.com/events
