Hello,
I will be flying to Rome FCO arriving at 1:15PM. Is an hour and 15 minutes going to be enough time to grab a 3:45PM flight to Catania?
I will be arriving from America and would need to purchase a ticket to Cantania. I might have one checked bag.

Since these are 2 separate flights with possible checked bags I would say 75 minutes is not enough
You have to go thru passport control then get your luggage then back thru security to next gate
Have to check in for that second flight and check bags again
Usually have to be checked in at least 30 minutes before flight - so you really only have 45 min for all of above
