Rome COOP Culture Tickets for The Coliseum

Hello:
I am trying to get Rome Coliseum tickets through COOP Culture website. It looks like the tickets can only be purchased a month in advance. But they seem sold out immediately, for each new day. I can never find any available tickets. Does anyone have similar experience with the website, or how to more easily get tickets? Thank you

What type of tickets are you trying to get and for which month?

If it's ANY ticket that includes the underground, those do tend sell out within minutes of becoming available for high-season months.

Thanks, Kathy Yes, we are trying to get a for experience underground ticket with the didactic guide. Any tips on working the system? We are going to Rome in early June, but are just becoming familiar with the Coop culture website now, so that we are ready when the 30 days availability comes.

I just tried to get these tickets this week and it didn't work out. I was online 30 minutes before the tickets were supposed to go on sale and the tour tickets never appeared as available. The tickets to the underground itself were immediately sold out. The general admission tickets would appear as available but would disappear once I tried to get them in my cart. I ended up just getting general admission tickets for the night before. It didn't seem like they put the whole days tickets on sale at the same time (like the Vatican does) but only make the tickets available at the time of entry. With the time difference I couldn't stay up all night waiting! Good luck!

Yep, they release the Underground tickets monthly, "720 hours (24h x 30d) before each single time slot" ROME TIME.
They release them weekly " 168 hours (24h x 7d) before each single time slot." ROME TIME
Time slots are in 15-minute increments.

The long and short of the matter is that the Coopculture tickets/tours which include the underground - and specifically this one: https://www.coopculture.it/en/products/the-wonders-of-the-colosseum-visiting-the-underground-and-the-arena/ - are the most difficult tickets in Rome to acquire. Many thousands of tourists want to get them, and many are willing to sit up 1/2 the night to be able to push GO immediately when slots for their desired day/time become available. Just because they're RIGHT in front of their screens when that happens doesn't mean their fingers were fast enough.

IMHO? You can see down into uncovered parts from above, and personally I find the hassle one has to go through to try and land this tour/ticket not worth the effort for the short amount of time the tours spend down there. You may feel differently; that's OK. :O)

This is the 2nd fastest seller:
Full Experience Ticket with Access to the Arena and Underground.
Includes entrance to the Colosseum including arena and accompanied visit to the underground (not a tour). Also includes entrance to the Palatine, Forum and their S.U.P.E,R sites which are open on your day of visit.

If you've no interest in the Palatine and Forum - which I personally found very interesting - you might try to get this tour? It also sells out very quickly, though.
Colosseum By Night:
includes tour of the underground and arena but no entrance to the Palatine and Forum:

In regard to Colosseum by Night: I agree that it's interesting and evocative, and you have the place almost to yourself, BUT it ONLY includes the underground and the arena floor. So you miss the views from higher up, and the museum exhibits on the upper floor, which we found quite interesting.

Our solution was to do the evening tour, then go back with the standard ticket the next day, which included the Forum. I believe we had to purchase the "with audioguide" ticket as the regular tix weren't available. We also paid 4 Euro additional for the SUPER sites add-on, which grants access to the museums within the Forum.

Hello- Reading what others have to say about purchasing tickets. I am not trying to get the tickets that include inside the arena. I hope to get the combo Coliseum, Roman Forman and Palatine Hills. It would appear that these are also only released for sale one month out? Can anyone confirm? From April 7th and out- the date is simply not available for selection.

When are these "released" for sale? A week or a day at a time etc? I didn't see any change in the status from yesterday- but possibly because it's a weekend there?

thanks.

They are released 30 days out. You didn’t see a change today because April 7th is the first Sunday of the month and admission is free. It will change unless there’s a free day or closing holiday.

We are also hoping to get regular admission tickets for May, but everything I’ve been reading makes that sound almost impossible. We planned a tour of ancient sites with a private guide for one specific morning of our trip, so we are locked into that one specific date and an early morning entry. Unfortunately we need to purchase our own tickets. I haven’t heard of anyone being successful in getting tickets (getting up to book as soon as they are released) in 2024. It’s really discouraging (and stressful!) I’m hoping for a miracle change in how tickets can be purchased in the next couple of weeks!

??? I just looked on Coopculture - there are plenty of standard tickets available for most days in March [except the last week] - including next day 3/9 - and the first week of April, tix with audiovideo device virtually every day, and tix including the arena floor on many days. The underground may be a different story, but right now you can get a ticket to enter the Colosseum for any of the next 30 days.

Right, Tickets that do NOT include the underground are generally much more available. You shouldn't have an issue buying a ticket of some sort that will at least get you inside. If a general-entry ticket will do, April 8th tickets are now available today - so abt. 30 days out - if a general-entry ticket will do but they do look to be selling briskly.

I think tickets are largely sold out for end of March as it's the week leading up to Easter but that's just a guess.

This tour - available in English - is also showing availability to April 8th...although also selling briskly or nearly sold out for Easter Week dates.

I have read that Coopculture is only selling tickets to the Colosseum through May 2024 and that another ticket seller will be in place in June. Does anyone know if this is true?

Probably. Was supposed to happen Feb. 1st but that obviously didn't happen. I have read rumblings about a May timeline but haven't seen a firm deadline myself yet. Doesn't matter: if you've purchased tickets through Coopculture in advance for dates before the turnover, they'll be honored. Can't imagine they wouldn't be.
