Rome Colosseum Tour recommendation

Ciao!!

My wife and I will be visiting Rome in a few weeks and are wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a small group tour of the Colosseum and underground?
Grazie mille.

Second the Walks of Italy recommendation. They are excellent and very reasonably priced.
Have fun,

I also did the official tour from the coopculture website but it was a weird experience. The tour itself was great! It's just that it was my husband and I, another couple, and then a big group from Walks of Italy, who were accompanied by their own guide. Their guide kept cutting us off to keep her group in front of us at all times and just made us feel really unwelcome for not being on her tour. We talked with the other couple afterward and they had the same feeling that it was somehow unfair (though I don't really know that there's a good solution to this). They had the same weird vibe from the other guide and additionally felt like she was giving them dirty looks.

Anyway, I've seen enough recommendations for them here to assume that the guiding in the Forum and Palantine Hill must make the tour worthwhile, because otherwise it would make little sense to pay the premium for a private company at the Colosseum when the official site offers the same thing at a more affordable price.

We picked Through Eternity, and their Ultimate Colosseum tour (didn't include underground, but there is one purchasable) for our family of 5 that included my three teenage daughters, based off some recommendations I came across on this forum. It was great! John, our guide was very knowledgeable, the group was small (only 8, but he said max is 15), the pace was nice with lots of chances for questions, and we spent probably a good 4 hours (included forum and palatine hill) in total. Definitely recommend it for sure! We had looked at walks of italy as well, but this one fit our schedule and preference better.

If you do decide to go with Walks of Italy I would Book ASAP and their calendar already shows some sold out dates in April. We used them for tours in Rome and Florence and highly recommend them.

rmpluer, your question is confusing? The official ticketing company for the Colosseum (general entry or tours) is coopculture (https://www.coopculture.it/en/index.html) but their tickets or tours which include the underground sell out very quickly - sometimes within minutes - of becoming available; right now their two economical tickets which include the undergorund (one is a tour; one is just an accompanied visit to the underground) are completely sold out for April. Right now, tickets are being released on a rolling 30-day basis but that could change.

Other 3rd-party operators were suggested: Walks of Italy, Roman Guy, etc. and I personally suggest a tour which includes the Forum and Palatine as those archeological sites are much more complex.

"The Vatican" is a broad subject. St Peter's is free so no tickets needed. The Vatican Museums, Vatican Gardens and some other bits and pieces do require tickets or tours which can be purchased here:

Tours operated by 3rd parties are also available.

We’ll be Rome June 24-27th. We’re looking for a small group tour of the Colosseum and underground. Walks of Italy is sold out. I found availability at Livtours and they have good reviews and it’s small group of 6. But they only have availability at 12:30 PM. I’m concerned it will be really hot and crowded.

There is also availability with the Roman Guy but he doesn’t have a good cancellation policy.

Do you have any other recommendations? Or should I go with Livtours or Roman Guy?

I appreciate your feedback.

I did several tours with The Roman Guy. I had initially booked some for May 2020, and when I had to cancel, I got credits PLUS bonus credits which I used to book an additional tour when I finally went. I wouldn't hesitate to deal with them again.
