Question - if I buy regular tickets for the coliseum but can only get 2pm which is too hot, can I just use the ticket the next morning without line since its good for 24 hrs?

Jill, no it doesn't work like that. Your tickets for the Colosseum will be for a specific day, and a specific time slot. Miss your reserved time and your tickets are no good. By "Ticket valid 24 hours from first use" they mean entry for the Forum and Palatine are good within 24 hours after your reserved entry time to the Colosseo: "1 entrance to the Colosseum at the booked time".
It's possible that you could visit the Forum and Palatine BEFORE your reserved entry time to the Colosseum - you'd have to ask - but you can't change that reservation time or get a refund once booked.

Great question...I'm hoping to book one of the last entrance time slots to Coliseum, about 1730 I believe. We'd like to visit Forum first and then go to Coliseum at our assigned time AFTER the Forum

Nothing on the Coopculture site says that you can't do the Forum/Palatine just before your timed entry to the Colosseum but neither does it specifically say that you can. It would be best to hear from someone who has done it that way but you could also just contact coopculture with your question.
