Rome Capitoline Museum ticket in advance or wait in line?

I am interested in going to the Capitoline Museum in Rome on a week day in late September. The Roma Pass is not financially practical for my schedule. I attempted to buy a ticket on-line and got to a page that was not secure where some personal information was to be entered. I decided to not go any further because of the security risk. The page was prompting me to register to set up an account. Did not understand why. I just want a ticket. If I wait to buy a ticket "at the door", does anyone have any recent experience regarding how long will the line be in late September?

I was there last mid-September in the afternoon and there was no line or crowd to speak of.

The only time I've ever seen long lines at the Capitoline Museum is when Rome's city museums have their free museum night, but that's usually sometime in May. Because it's a city-owned museum, it also shouldn't be affected by days when the state-owned museums are free.

Edit: It's not unusual to have to register before purchasing tickets to certain sights in Italy as they may use a ticketing service such as Vivaticket.

We Just came back from Rome in mid-August and went to the Capitoline and walked right in. Beautiful museum. I was amazed that there were not more people there.

I visited the Capitolene Musem on Rome's Birthday celebration day, on which it was free and, therefore, expected to be busy but had no trouble getting in and virtually no wait.

We had the Roma Pass when we went last September, but I noticed that there was not a long line at all. You'd probably be fine just walking up.
