Rome Cabs Tip

We've arranged for Rome Cabs to pick us up at the airport. Should we tip the driver, or is his tip included in the charge?

How much are they charging you? Are you staying in the historic center of Rome?

Yes, we're staying by the Pantheon. The charge is $55.

tell him a charming anecdote, that's all the tip he wants or needs. but seriously, i would give him an extra euro if he's anything above and beyond a silent robot. plus if he helps with your bags, that's worth a little coin, i would think.

My philosophy is every one needs to make a living so I add 10% to cab fares in Europe. Good Karma, I always get it back in multiples.

We have used RomeCabs and will again. Their service is top notch, the drivers help with luggage, are usually very personable and have been reported to go above and beyond eg waiting with passengers until the apartment owner turned up with the keys. We usually tip 5 euro for the two of us but once when there were six of us (and a load of luggage!) we tipped 10 euro.

We used Rome Cabs & tipped the driver. They are very professional, reliable and friendly and it was a good experience. I know the Italians don't tip like we do but we felt like it was the right thing to do. Have a great trip & rest assured that they will be waiting for you at the airport no matter how late or early your plane arrives. (our plane was 5 hrs late & they were there waiting for us!)
