Going to Rome for the first time with my daughter. Staying at the Hotel Smeraldo. We need to get to Piazza Del Popolo for a walking tour the first evening we are there. What is the easiest way? Taxi/bus? What bus? Thanks for the help.
Its a 25 minute walk or so, depending on stops, along some shopping streets if you wanted to walk it. A taxi may be the next most efficient way.
I didn't realize it was that close. Sounds like walking might be the fastest/easiest ticket.
I can tell you that it's an 8€ taxi ride from Largo Argentina to the Spanish Steps, which are each 2 or 3 blocks from your starting and ending points. And yes, it's about a 25 minute walk. Just realize that you may be walking the exact route, or close to it, that you are going to go on your official "walking tour."
