Rome - Best Area to look for B&B

We will be in Rome in October. Where is the best area to look for B&B. We will be doing the usual site seeing, but would like a somewhat quiet area. Walk able to dinning.

Thanks for the help !!

Ours was an apartment for a week, not a B&B, but I can't recommend the Trastevere neighborhood highly enough, just across the Tiber River. Plenty of interesting restaurants (and also bars that put out a spread of free food when you purchase a drink -- nurse your glass of wine and eat well for next to nothing). If you'd consider fixing your own breakfasts (and have the option of the occasional dinner, too), an apartment works great!

Don't worry so much about finding a quiet "area" as finding a quiet room. The same B&B could have a room that faces out onto a rowdy piazza and a room that faces into a peaceful inner courtyard.

As for where, the epicenter of the historic center is the Pantheon/Piazza Navona area. The closer you are to it, the closer you are to the major sites, esp. if this is your first time to visit Rome.

We stayed at the Hotel Rosetta, which was within walking distance of the Forum and the Colloseum. It wasn't anything fancy, but a good, clean, secure, comfortable room, recommended in the guides. We could have even walked to it from the Train Station, but were tired and chose to take a taxi. We were very pleased with it.

I agree with the comment about where the apartment is located in regards to the street. One side can be very quiet and the other very loud. Last time I visited Italy our apartment in Florence had a lovely terrace off of my bedroom. But at night the party began outside and it was crazy loud ! ( only for me ) !! :)

The Trastevere area sounds very fun. I'll look into that.

Thanks for the suggestions.
