I would definitely check out Rental in Rome: www.rentalinrome.com which is an awesome website as well as Vacation rentals by Owners: www.vrbo.com which is also good, but a lot more difficult to navigate. Based on your budget, you will definitely be able to find a fantastic apartment or villa in Rome!

I get the feeling that Tim has a vested interest in Casa Paradiso. He turns up on this site many times as well as others. I looked at this apartment but it is on a few different levels without any flow. Anyone had any personal experience - would be interesting for fellow travellers.

Carol: It would be my WILDEST fantasy come true to actually own or have a vested interest in European real estate. I think I drive my wife crazy lamenting about how I can never retire to my dream destination of Switzerland because I don't have the financial means.

These boards are for real travelers (like me) to share real experiences that may help other real travelers (like Lisa) to have a great and affordable time.

In return, I expect someone else to answer my questions when and if I post them. Plain and simple, it's just information sharing.

The Rome apartment was the highlight of our entire trip. We had never before rented an apartment and were quite anxious about the transaction. To realize that I had made a GREAT decision in our Rome rental was truly a load off my shoulders.

To insinuate that I have a vested interest, without even first directing your accusation to me personally, is highly inappropriate.

We used VRBO to find a fantastic apt for the two of us in Rome. We have also used them for other countries, and the US.

We also have had very good luck using homelidays.com
