Rome Apartment rental cancelled

Hello! I hope someone can help me.
I will be in Rome June 18 to June 22 with my daughter and granddaughter. We had a lovely apartment booked near Campo de Fiori. I booked with Vrbo but it is now managed by WonderWhereToStay, which I had never heard of. I reconfirmed twice that my reservation was valid and was told yes. This morning they canceled on me.
There’s very little left in Rome one month away, Do any of you have suggestions of companies that I can search for apartment rentals? I have tried Airbnb and VRBO there doesn’t seem to be much left with two bedrooms and two baths, close to the city center. I would even take two bedrooms and one bath at this point.
Any help would be very much appreciated! Budget is $300-$350 per night. Thank you in advance.

Booking.com has a lot of apartments now. I just took a look and see quite a few for your days. I have never rented through them, so can’t comment on the experience.
A few years ago we used trip advisor for an apartment in the uk when other sites were gone.

Two bathrooms are very uncommon in Italian homes, unless they are large 3+ bedroom apartments (and even then many 3 bd apartments have only one bathroom). If you unselect the 2+ bathroom filter many more choices will come up.

Hi Debbie,
In 2013 we were two couples and stayed at this lovely two bedroom two bathroom apartment in Trastevere. It was an excellent location. Name of the apartment is Residence La Scala. Here is a link to their website. Residence La Scala. We were very happy with it. I have no idea if they have availabilty for your dates but you can contact them to see.

Thank you all very much! I have made inquiries for the second Airbnb property and also for the residence La Scala.

Although I don't go looking for apartments, I have occasionally ended up in small ones when they had the best combination of rate and location. I use booking.com, partly because I've found the reviews to reflect my later experience at the property. You cannot leave a review on booking.com unless you've stayed at the property.

Ugh, that sucks!

We have a rental booked in July through an agency called RomeLoft that was recommended on the SlowEurope forums. I've also used Rental in Rome in the past. A friend decided to come meet us in Rome for a few days and found something easily on Booking.com - just within the last 2 weeks.

That's too bad, and causing you unnecessary anxiety.

I have used booking.com many times, as I like the fact that you can usually cancel right up until the day before.
Have had no problems at all with them over the years with many bookings, some in Italy, some elsewhere.
Look for one with many reviews.
also open their map page to see how close the places are to where you want to be.
I keep Google Maps open on another page so I can toggle back and forth to double check the area.

I've looked there for your dates, and see many options for you; so all is not lost!
Good luck...let us know what you book.

I have reserved one from AirBnB. Unfortunately it is nearly double what I was paying. With one bathroom.
I can change my mind until June 4 so I am still looking. I find Booking.com great for hotels but not so great for apartments. When they advertise a two bedroom it is not really a two bedroom, it is a one bedroom with a living room and a sofa bed. We are traveling with a teenager so we definitely need our own space, two separate bedrooms. I’m still looking. Thanks again for all your help

Try apartments in Testaccio, north of via Galvani and west of via Marmorata. The northern part of this area is close to Trastevere and to the more heavily touristed places like Campo de Fiori (you could walk there in half an hour) and the southern part of this area is closer to the metro station. There are lots of buses, too. It's really not hard to learn to ride the bus in Rome. Testaccio has less expensive but still really nice apartments. It's actually our very favorite area to stay in and we've have no trouble finding real 2-bedroom (not sofa bed) apartments there.

We loved this 2 bdr, 2 bath apartment in Trastevere, near the Ponte Sisto bridge. Modern and well equipped, with 2 rooftop terraces. And lots of steps! Each room is on a different level.

This is the Tripadvisot listing, and that is how we rented it. Lorenzo the owner lived downstairs and was very helpful with missing luggage from a flight. According to TripAdvisor it is available for your dates, but I tried to find it on other listing platforms and could not. But it is worth a look.
