Rome Apartment Rental

Recommendations for Rome Apartment Rental for a family of six. We are taking our adult children to Italy and need sleeping arrangement for two couples and two singles, so 4 beds total - prefer not to put anyone on a sofa bed. Location is important, as we will only have a few days in Rome and want to take in as many sites as possible. Does anyone suggest particular agency, website or apartment to book apartment? We have only stayed in hotels, so any advice on apartment renting is appreciated.

Our dates are not firm at this point, but we are looking at the end of May. Budget is flexible.

Can the adult children share a room if it has 2 single beds, or do you need 3 bedrooms? Your first step is to decide that, and then pick a few areas you may want to stay in. Then look at listings.

I like booking.com to start. They list hotels as well as apartments so you have to search just apartments, then make sure the bedroom arrangement works for you. You want to read the cancellation policy closely, sometimes they offer discounts for pre-payment or non-refundable rates, which may not be the best choice if you are still figuring it out. Also make sure there are multiple positive reviews.\

Airbnb is also good. Often they require 50% or full payment ahead of time, which can be a drawback. Also, some listings don't show you the exact location. You can always ask the host before booking about any details like that.

I stayed at this one 2 years ago, but the prices look a lot higher now (might just be the random dates I chose, or maybe I got a great deal when I was there!). Plenty are cheaper, I just have personal knowledge of this one. Anyway, they have several apartments, but I stayed in the 2 bedroom. 2nd bedroom had 2 single beds.

hey bea
you can look at booking.com like others have commented - filters on left side and click what you want. (apartments, twin and double beds, maybe terrace (we loved ours) air/condition, elevator/lift if on a high floor and carry bags up. when you see something click it and see what's there with pictures. you can do a "dummy" booking and see total, scroll down and see what's available, read fine print, if deposit in cash euros on arrival, cleaning deposit, bedrooms/beds bathrooms, cancellation policy, what area.
cross-pollinate.com same thing about looking and "dummy" request to see total cost.
shortstay-apartments.com
click location in all sites and pick what you like, not a busy and loud street, not above a bar/club, read reviews carefully good and bad, if possible email and communicate. you want the best and not be stressed out on vacation. confer with the family, book early since you are going when it gets busy (summer season starts) hope this helps. any others questions come back and ask questions. the posters here are great and will give you opinions. let us know. also your arrival time is important, if you land eary and can get early check in, store luggage or lugging it around cobblestones, uneven sidewalks. ask for 2 or 3 keys if you want to go different ways.

Yes, changing the count to 8 seems to offer better sleep configurations. Thanks for the suggestion.

We used Italy Perfect. https://www.italyperfect.com/

Their HQ are in California so you actually speak with someone if need be. I highly recommend this company and their properties. They have really nice apartments, but they are not what I would call budget-minded. Take a look.

We just got back from Italy and rented an apartment for 5 nights in Rome. We used VRBO but they also have their own website. It was a 3 bedroom two bath apartment and it slept seven people without having to use the sofa bed. One bedroom had a kingsize bed and a third bed which our son slept in. The second bedroom had two single beds and the third bedroom was also a king size bed. It was on Via Lubicana with the Colosseum at the end of the street. This company seems to have several apartments on this street. All windows faced interior courtyards so no noise. I believe their personal website is Rome-holiday-accommodation.com if you don’t want to go through VRBO.
