Rome airport transport at night

We'll be travelling to Italy in a couple of weeks flying to/from Rome. Our return flight departs at 6am, means we'll have to be at the airport by 3am. We are planning to stay in Sorrento the last 2 days of our trip and it does not seem appealing to arrive to Rome airport at 10 pm by the last train from Napoli. Any idea how to get to the Rome (Leonardo) airport from Sorrento/Napoli in the early morning hours except taxi? or any other ideas?
Your help will be highly appreciated, thanks
Irina

I have a 6:20am flight out of Rome and will also be arriving from Sorrento area. I booked a room near the airport, reasonable on recommendation, Hotel Mach2, only 2 miles from airport.

I strongly recommend staying in Rome or near the airport the night before your flight. There are too many variables in leaving in the early morning hours from Sorrento that could cause you to miss your flight.

OUCH - tough flight back... I'm with Sam on this. NO WAY you want to be trying to come that night. Not sure of your budget or "points" situation but there is a Hilton "connected" to the FCO Airport. Many of my friends with early flights have spent the night there and just walked over in the morning. They said it was extremely "relaxing" not to have to worry about transportation that morning. Most were inexperienced international flyers and thus this was far less stressful!

Unless you have a US carrier at 6 AM (doubtful??) you're probably connecting in AMS, FRA, CDG, etc... so you really only need to be there about 2 hours before - at 4 AM, that's a BIG hour for me!

Get into Rome (wherever) the night before. As Sam says, there's just TOO MANY variables!
