Greetings, I am in need of a recommendation for a transfer from the Rome Flumicino airport to my lodging in the city, from someone with recent experience. While searching for this information on the site, the date is quite old and I'[m hoping for better luck here. I have read reviews regarding Welcome Pickups and Sun Transfers, many reviews on Trip Advisor are mixed. Thanks in advance for any guidance.
Many will say just use the official taxi rank, and there's nothing wrong with that. Flat fee and the line moves quickly. But if you want a private transfer, check our romecabs.com. It is a car service despite the name. We've used them a number of times and have always been pleased. We send an email setting out our needs and hear back from them within 24 hours.
Depending on hotel location, you could consider the train--Leonardo Express.
On our last trip, we used the Leonardo Express, Easy and fast from the airport, arriving at the central Roma Termini train station. From there, we caught a taxi to our lodging, but have also stayed close enough to the station to walk to the hotel.

We always just take a taxi
Get in the official taxi line, wait your turn
Fixed rate 50 Euros
Hand the driver your address and enjoy the ride
Do not go with anyone offering a taxi before the official taxi rank
We are staying at The Hotel San Francesco in Trastevere later this month. I arranged a private driver thru the hotel. The 70 Euro charge is worth it! After an 8 hour flight it will be nice to simply look for the guy holding a sign with our name on it!
This year and last, I booked Rome Cabs to pick me up at FCO and take me to my hotel near Campo di Fiori. It's a little more expensive than a taxi, but since I'm a solo traveler completely bleary after getting off the long flight from the west coast, it's great to meet up with someone waiting for me just outside baggage claim.
This year, heading back to FCO at the end of my trip, I took the Leonardo Express and I would definitely do that again.
To take the Leonardo Express from the airport, do you need to book it in advance? Is it easy to find where it's located? Is it easy to catch the train?
From my search for the information about transfer from the airport, it was my impression that this should not be at all difficult - to simply use the train or public bus. So, I even didn't think about taking a taxi. But looking now at all the responses, it made me wonder if I rather should consider private transfer / taxi instead of the public transportation?
Dreammarinka --- Grab your luggage and follow the frequent signs to the Train. You cannot miss it. Buy a ticket at the window or the ticket machine or the even the Tobacco shop across from the ticket window. Normally I would say validate the ticket (time stamp) and get on the train. But that system may have changed so if it is not obvious, ask the ticket agent. It is easy to do. The train is 16 or 18e while the taxi is 50e. For a single person the train is a lot of cheaper.
And next time start your own question instead of hijacking someone else question. It is the polite thing to do.

There are plenty of videos on YouTube covering arrival at FCO and getting to the train.
Another vote for Rome Cabs. Used them in June to return to airport. I was by myself (my sister and her friends who I had been traveling with through Italy headed to cruise port using them as well) so was a little nervous and was willing to pay more to get there. Very prompt pick up at my hotel and friendly driver. We did not have a good taxi experience when we arrived in Rome by train from Florence- line was horrendous and guys trying to trick you into getting in their “cabs” paying twice as much.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. The tips on using the search feature are also great.
I guess I was thinking the Rome airport would be a little nuts just like Italy can be a little chaotic. Well, the airport couldn't have been more easy to navigate with more than adequate signage. Same with the Leonardo Express. I will admit that I am biased towards public transportation, but I find it more pleasant and easier to just find the train/metro in whatever city than having to deal with a driver or a cab. Rome was no exception. Leonardo Express needs no reservation, just buy a ticket and get on.
We actually had employees in uniforms by the ticket machines, helping make the Leonardo Express ticket purchase fast and easy. Depending on where you’re staying in Rome, that couldn’t be an easier way to get into the fury from the airport.
