Rome airport to train station

Hi, I arrive 7 am at airport. are there clear signs of how to make it to the train station? How long does it take to reach the train station? If I miss the schedued time, can i hop on the next one? Thanks to everyone. I find the trains very daunting but am sure will get the hang of it. After reading earlier posting, I'll just buy point to point

Do you mean the train station at the airport? Very easy to find. Follow signs for the Leonardo Express. No problem. Buy a ticket from the automatic kiosks and hop on to the next one to depart.

9.5€. and you can't miss the train. Just follow the signs showing the train or ask anyone.

You just use your credit card in the machine to buy a ticket.

WARNING!!!! You must VALIDATE your ticket on ALL trains in Italy before boarding. There are little yellow machines you put your ticket into. If you are not sure, ASK. Forget? It cost my brother 51€ fine last month and it has to be paid on the spot. NOT A JOKE!

As Rick says, if you do forget and board the train and it is too late to run back to the machines, go find the conductor, tell him you made a mistake as an ignorant tourist and beg him to give you a second chance.

The train is very very easy to find - it literally has "Leonardo Express" on the engine. It leaves every 30 minutes and takes about 35 minutes to get to Termini, although in October (as I recall) the price was up to 11 euros.

The train is very easy to find. Are you traveling light? There is not much room in overhead racks, and floor space for luggage is limited.

Ditto the advice on validating your ticket before boarding! Sometimes the yellow validating machine is slow. You put your ticket in, and it punches a date/time stamp. But it may take a few seconds. One time I could not get it to work at all. Since I had to board right away, I sought out the conductor right away, explained, and he stamped it.

I spoke with one traveler who got caught on a bus without a validation. The driver called the cops, and her passport was confiscated until they paid a fine.

Have fun, and be careful crossing the streets! Ciao.
