Rome airport to Sorrento

Please define what "best" means to you.

The options are many, from using a rental car, limo service or some combination of trains, buses and boat.

Cost and travel times will vary, depending on what choice is made.

I drove from Sorrento, through Foggia en-route to my Grandparents town via this general route

Mostly used non-freeway roads and enjoyed the drive through the pretty countryside

Not sure if at this late date you still have flexibility in your plans, but I absolutely had a good time doing this and had no problems. It was my 1st time driving in a foreign country that was not named Canada!
